Erik it did get cold .. cold enough to harm the citrus crop I'm afraid .. have had below freezing temps the last 3 nights .. so odd to wake up and see the ground covered in frost .. at a time when the organge trees are getting buds no less .. uggh!
That is awesome!! Are you knitting or crocheting it? I use to be really fast at crocheting but my attention span is pretty much obsolete now. I am bored after a couple of rows. I am really enjoying knitting though. It's something new and challenging. I make a lot of mistakes which pisses me off but it's ok. Someone told me on another site that swearing is good exercise. HAHA. BTW...have you ever been to ravelry.com? It's a site for knitters/crocheters. Lots of cool/helpful people there.
This one is crocheted but I do knit as well. I used to make really intricate cabled afghans (think of Irish fisherman sweaters) but haven't done one of those for many years.
I find crocheting easier because I can do it on autopilot (without much thinking lol). I know what you mean about knitting, it's alot of fun isn't it.
I also like to crochet and knit baby/children's hats that I plan to send to an NPO that distributes them to orphans in Mongolia and Nepal. Simple easy patterns and they don't care what colors or styles so I'm always making something different. I have maybe 40+ hats and maybe a dozen scraves made already.
No, I've never been to ravery.com. I'll have to go and check it out.
And btw, I think swearing is always good exercise.
It´s truly wonderful work Erik!! Thanks for sharing your crafting skills,,you´re a man of many talents!! Crochet and knitting are so much fun,,wonder if moms still have time to learn out stuff like this!! Huh,,in this stressed out world..my mom taught me too, I knitted a red ..hmmm (headwear) when I was 5 or 6 years old, can´t find the word..I was very proud when I got it all finished..
Aw, you should've been proud. I will be proud when I finish my first knit hat. Knitting, crochet, sculpture, jewelry...all working with my hands and feeling different textures. I love it. Thank you very much.
Ohh..I just love all kind of crafting as well, carving in wood, just the smell of it makes me happy,,and I´w tried out a lot of different things,,maybe I should upload some of my jewelrys made in croched thin metal thread and beads...
Also I started some traditional work,,wich I have uploaded in here recently,,some old some new..watercolours, oil and aqrylic..so maybe I will upload some of my jewlery stuff then! Well..boring is not good, you should be where your heart is Erik!
Knitting is great. Once you can manage the two main stitches and a few rules you can experiment with patterns and then if you have an eye for shape and proportions you can knit without a pattern. That's the most fun. Don't let the row of stitches be too tight on the needle. They must move easily.
Haha, my Mom liked to do crafts and since there was a big age difference between me and my brothers I did a lot of stuff with her. She taught me how to crochet and cross-stitch, how to paint. I just started knitting and found out that sailors knitted their nets. So I dont feel so girlie now.
